Ergonomic MouseKindles

For anyone who needs a new mouse, I strongly recommend getting an ergonomic mouse. Specifically, a vertical mouse. Even if you don’t have a repetitive stress issue like carpel tunnel syndrome get a vertical mouse so you don’t develop one in the future! Unlike normal mice vertical mice have you hold your hand vertical a 90 degree angle to your desk. This position is much less stressful than the horizontal position you use with a normal mouse. If you put your hand in a mouse holding position right now and then move your hand to a vertical position you'll feel how the vertical position is more relaxed. Now image the strain that holding a mouse in the standard position exerts over an entire day of mousing at work!

About ten years ago, I developed serious pain in my outside of my forearm. I was really worried that I’d have to stop work for many months to recouperate. I tried numerous types of mice like tracball mice and nothing worked. I even tried using my left hand but before long the same pain emerged in my left arm. I’m eternally grateful to a buddy from church who recommended the 3M ergonomic mouse. Upon using it the pain disappeared and hasn’t been an issue since. There are actually a number of ergonomic mice on the market but I’ve tried a number of them over the years but most of them were somewhat uncomfortable for me to click so I still prefer the 3M as the shape of it just makes it very easy to right and left click for me and its also come down a lot in price lately! The only small drawaback is that there isn’t really a scroll wheel function so you might want to try some of the other vertical mice like those from Evoluent and Anker which have a scroll-wheel.
